Scenes From The Lunch Table...

During lunch today, Teda asked me: "Mom, where do hot dogs come from?" (as she's looking at her hot dog...)
Me: "oh boy..." (not even sure exactly what to say- pigs?)
Dane: "The hot dog store."
Me: "Let's stick with that!"
Teda: "No, I mean what animal do they come from?" (she's not easily swayed... she is in kindergarten now afterall)
A few minutes later... Dane: "A dog. They come from dogs."

Then we continued on with a lovely conversation about how some of our food comes from animals. Wierd that hot dogs don't come from dogs, but thankfully they don't. At least these were turkey dogs...
