New Year's Eve 2010

We took this video on New Years Eve. We wanted to make New Year's Eve special for the kids, and we let them stay up a little later than normal. We had a movie night, and right before bed we lit up some sparklers. Come to find out later that any kind of fireworks are illegal in some cities of AZ. But here's the crazy part that I find just wrong. We bought these at TARGET right by our house!

They were even selling fireworks on the side of the roads all over the place. We were trying to figure out what the deal was and someone said fireworks are now legal. Well, that was partially true. We had the news on for a minute after the kids went to bed, and the truth is that it is now legal to sell fireworks, but it is illegal in our city to set them off. WHAT?! I think that is so wrong to sell them somewhere like Target, knowing they're illegal in some cities to set off. Oh well, live and learn. It was fun to light the sparklers and watch daddy light some smoke bombs (these little balls that let out different colors of smoke) in our ignorance.

After the kids went to bed, Zach and I watched a movie. We did stay awake until midnight, but just barely. :) Are we getting old or something? HA!

This video is cute- Jett has a scratchy voice because he was just getting over some kind of sickness. And Dane was not doing well that night because he was having some serious ear pain that night. Poor guy- he's had quite the go of it these past few months with his ears. More on that later.

Also, here's a video of one of the kids favorite Christmas gifts this year- they're these light sabers that go on the wall. They have remote controls that go with them, and the kids have a "sword fight" every night before bed. Then after they've had their sword fight, we leave them on until they turn off automatically 20 mintues later. Thanks grandma and papa for such a fun gift! :)
