Go Rockstars!!

For Christmas, my parents got the kids' a season of playing a sport. I love these kinds of gifts, because they are experiences and make for fun memories. Jett chose to play basketball, and his last game of the season is actually this coming Saturday. He's done a great job, and he's a very good little ball player! It cracks me up each game... the kids are just too cute at this age! The rules are that you can't steal the ball, they play half court, and the coaches get to be on the court. It's mostly just learning the basics, and learning how to be on a team.

He's had fun, and at the same time- he's ready for the season to be over so he can try other things. :) But he's made some friends, he's learned about the game, he enjoys shooting baskets and dribbling the ball, and he's had a fun time! It took him a little getting used to the idea of people watching him from the stands and cheering for him. He's our little guy who does NOT like that kind of attention.

So the first game, when we were cheering him on, he's stop and give us "the look" that said, stop cheering for me, you're embarrassing me! But after time went on, he got more used to it, and he doesn't mind it now. It just takes him a bit to get warmed up to things.

Here's a play by play of a recent game when Jett had the ball. He dribbled it all around the court, finds an opening, shoots, and SCORES!!! AFter that it's time for a potty break. :) Then it was hi fiving the other team, and a game with his team to end the morning. They let Deklan join in, and Jetty is SO sweet with him. They have a special little bond. Way to go Jett, and way to go Rockstars (their team name) for a great season! :)
