Happy Birthday Jesus!

Here's what our Christmas was like this year- it was great!

We woke up in the morning and Zach made a yummy breakfast called Johnson's specials. It's a family tradition of his from growing up- and his family still makes it together on Christmas too. It has scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese, and hashbrowns all mixed together. So Zach made that for us all, we ate, and then we sang Happy Birthday to Jesus. Also early that morning, the boys had helium balloons blown up and put in the family room to help celebrate Jesus' birthday (the kids loved it!)... and then we read a childrens book talking about the birth of Jesus, and the Christmas story. Once we'd done that, we enjoyed opening up gifts. The kids had fun opening up the presents- and they loved all that they got! The last gift we opened was the envelope that contained the ultrasound we had done the week before... the one that says what we're having. And we found out that it's another BOY! We had both Zach's mom and dad on the phone, and my parents there- so it was fun to open and find out.

Then that afternoon we went over to my aunt Sue and uncle Randy's house for more Christmas festivities with our extended family. We ate a big lunch, and began opening up gifts- there were aboout 45 people there, so there were a lot of gifts to open! So we ate a lot there all day long (I had WAY too many popcorn balls and peanut butter fudge), played some volleyball, people played games, and watched football. It's always fun getting together with our family. Thanks uncle Randy and aunt Sue for opening up your home to all of us!

By the end of the night, we were all exhausted, but it was a GREAT day. Next year we will have to make a cake for Jesus' birthday- Teda pointed out on the way home that we didn't have a cake for Jesus' birthday. So next year we'll do that.
