More Fun In Washington!!

Yesterday was another beautiful, sunny day here in Washington. I guess this is not normal to have a few sunny days (all the day through) here. We must've brought the sunshine with us from Arizona! Yesterday Christian's parents came over and watched little Calvin, so that we could go and enjoy the day in Seattle. It was so great!

We went to Pike's Place Market, where they have tons of little shops, the most beautiful and inexpensive flowers, fish markets where the guys throw fish, we ate delicious fish and chips while overlooking "the sound", walked all around, I got a GIANT honeycrisp apple from a fruitstand (the biggest I've ever had- almost 1 lb! and delicious!), took a beautiful hike in Queen Anne, checked out a local coffee shop, checked out some little toy shops, and went to Kerry Park that overlooks the space needle. We got some awesome pictures there. From there, we headed to the town of Kirkland for dinner (gyros) and you guessed it, more coffee from Christian's favorite coffee shop. Well, I don't drink coffee, but Zach has certainly had his share of some great coffee this weekend. :)

Here was our view while eating- incredible!
Can you see Jackie and me? Everyone was watching the fish throwers at Pike's Place Market

Then today we went to Christian and Jackie's church, then had lunch with Christian's parents, and after naptime we headed to a nearby beach for a birthday party for little Calvin's friend who turned 2. It was so great! The beach was absoutely beautiful- with a playground right by the water. The party was fun, and afterwards we got salmon and chips and clam chowder (where I had sort of a "soup nazi" experience- remember that episode from Seinfeld? it was kinda like that!), and ate dinner on the beach. Then we made a fire, and had smores with Christian and Jackie's good friends here (it was their son's party we were at).

Talk about an amazing vacation. We got to see so much of Seattle, play and have fun, laugh so much, enjoy the company of our dear friends, and enjoy each other and celebrate life. We head back tomorrow morning. While I'll miss it here, I'm so excited to get back to our babies. I've missed them so much and can't wait to give them kisses and hugs! I feel renewed and refreshed, and ready to get back to being mommy. Thanks Christian and Jackie for an incredible weekend; and who knows, maybe we can make this our new annual vacation!

Update::::::: We're home, and it's bittersweet. We miss our friends so much, and had such a great time. And at the same time, we are SO excited to be home with our babies. We were greeted at the airport with our little ones, my mom, and my sister Sarah, brother in law Trevor, and sweet little one month old nephew Dallas. They had a sign, and big smiles, hugs and kisses. Dane was dressed up like a cowboy- apparently he's been wearing the outfit for most of the weekend. He even slept in the boots for naptime. We're happy to be home!!! And a GIGANTIC thank you to my mom and dad for watching the kids while we were gone. You're the best!
