Mornings at our house

Morning time is pretty relaxed around here. Here's a peek at how it usually goes. The kids get up (usually around 7am, but some days it's earlier, some days later, no rhyme or reason to it, but the late days I love)- sometimes it's Dane up first, and sometimes they both get up at the same time (I'm guessing whoever gets up first wakes the other up)... and they quietly come into our room. I'm either still in bed sleeping or I've miraculously gotten up early to work out and have some time to myself to prepare for the day and even to get myself ready. If I'm still in bed and Dane gets up first, I'll pull him into bed with me and see how long he'll let me sleep. Usually it's like 5 minutes before he's whispering to me, "I want batest (breakfast)" or "I want sank (snack- he sometimes doesn't realize it's not the afternoon after naptime, in which case I reply, "Do you want snack breakfast?" And he usually says yes to that. :) And if both kids come into the room together, I usually just get up and get started with getting them breakfast. Zach typically isn't here when they wake up unless they wake up late, because he's been doing a new work out program, and leaves the house at 5:15am to go work out- and he's so dedicated and works so hard, and he's looking pretty studly (he'd be so embarrased if he saw this, but it's true!)... so anyways, back to our routine...

Breakfast is pretty standard at our house- Teda asks for toast- but by toast she means a piece of bread not toasted with crunchy peanut butter and honey on it, with the top crust pulled off, so she can eat it without having to bite into crust. (and she leaves the rest of the crust and Zach usually eats it).... Dane asks for a samich (sandwich)- just a piece of bread with crunchy pb and honey, folded in half, then cut in two parts so he can eat it without it falling apart. And milk is the drink of choice. They eat their breakfast by having a breakfast picinic in the family room on a beach towel, and get to watch a show- usually dora, diego, or a new favorite, Hi-5 (a cute kids show on discovery kids channel). Once I've gotten them all settled in, it's usually time to get Jett up and feed him. And by this time Zach usually gets home to make himself breakfast, and he makes me something too, and plays with the kids for a little bit if he has time. (He's so wonderful, such a family guy, and I'm so thankful for that!) Then he showers, and heads in to work. It's a fun morning at our house- and you can find us doing this routine pretty much every day! Oh to be a kid again, wake up, eat your favorite breakfast every morning, and watch your favorite cartoons having a picinic. How fun is that! Here's a few pics of the kids from a few mornings ago. Dane was in a little mood, so there's one of him pouting while I took pics of Teda and Jett. Then he felt better and wanted to be in the picture.
Pretty cute!
