Teda Update

Hi there, youll have to excuse the way im typing today. i cut my right pinky finger pretty bad yesterday on the top of a can of diced tomatoes (i know, it was gross, but im okay now!), and so i dont have the use of my pinky finger while typing today. zach was so sweet and helpful, and he got it all bandaged up for me. so the shift button and the apostrophe button are not going to be used today.... anyways, so theres so much that has been going on, i wish i could blog all day long. i dont think id run out of fun things to blog about either.

teda is doing great. shes been very attached to a babydoll and a little stuffed doggy lately. shes been "wearing" the babydoll inside her jacket, just like i wear jett in his little carrier. and she feeds her baby, puts her down for naps, sings to her, and talks with her. and she does the same for her little puppy too. her and my mom made a little dolly bed for her doll the other day. my mom cut a box in the shape of a bed, and they put wrapping paper on it, and decorated it. pretty cute. teda is all about having "stuff", and she takes it everywhere with her. she likes to put things that shes into- for instance, a few headbands and a barette, in baggies. and she takes those baggies everywhere with her. so when i havent straightened our house in a bit, if you look around youll see little piles of tedas "stuff" in different places all throughout the house. my sister sarah was a lot like that when she was little- and teda is like sarah too in the way that shes very into fashion. and that girl has her own style- and there is nothing i can do to get her to wear what i think she should wear, or what i think would be cute. ive given up on that. she has a few outfits that she just loves, and she sticks to those. and shes very into headbands, and she just sticks them in her hair, and so its not "perfect", the way i would want my little girls hair to look. and ive tried to get her to wear it the way i want her to, and it really never works. the other day she had it in a headband, and her hair was pretty much all over the place, and i said, "i thought you wanted to wear a braid in your hair today" (becuase she had talked about that), and she replied with "but i thought im beautiful no matter".... oh man, she got me! thats what ive told her many times, and i was trying to get her to look a certain way and she got me! what an awesome lesson for me- it doesnt matter what my kids look like. i can try to make them look cute and nice, but thats not what matters. that is so hard for me! but im learning.

and, teda LOVES to sing. shes singing all the time, and its mostly words she makes up of whatever is on her mind at the time. ive recently had to start telling her during naptime and bedtime to stop singing, and that she can sing all day long tomorrow. she just cant help herself- she has to sing! :)

were doing this thing called a jesse tree, and its like an advent calendar. it has devotions for each day- started nov 30th, and goes until christmas day. with each devotion, there is an ornament that can be hung on a little table top tree- we colored and cut out the ornaments. its really awesome, and im so excited to be doing it. well todays devotion was about how God created the world and everything in it. and the ornament was a picture of the earth. and teda asked, "did God make everything in target?" isnt that awesome? her little mind is growing, and she is so inquisitive and thoughtful. and last night zach was going to stir some chili we were making, then put the lid on it. he and i were talking about it, and she said to me, "mom, i think if he puts the lid on it, he wont be able to stir it." she was right- so we made sure to tell zach to stir it before he put the lid on it. its just too cool to watch their little minds develop and grow. well, i could go on forever with cool little stories, but i think ill stop here for now.
