what a week

disclaimer- please excuse the non-capital letters and punctuation errors- i was typing this very quickly to get out all my thoughts fast before the kids get up and i get interrupted! :)...

jett has a double ear infection and bronchiolitis... yikes. i almost didnt even take him into the dr- i was like, theyre just going to look at him and tell me its just a cold and hes fine. good thing i took him in! poor guy. hes just whining in his crib right now... but mommy needs a break and theres not much i can do for him. he got all kinds of medicine and has to do breathing treatments too. these third kids- i really havent worried about him much at all when he gets sick, i just think, he'll get better eventually. kids get sick, it happens! so i've lightened up a lot since teda. she wouldve been at the dr the first sign of a runny nose! isnt it funny how that changes? crazy. oh, and he got his sixth tooth too- lots going on with him!

dane totally doesnt get the potty training thing- he goes to the bathroom on the floor like its the newest trend. it's disgusting to clean it up- i feel like i have two kids and a puppy this week. sick. and i get so mad when he does it- he just runs in and tells me, "i poop on da floor mommy. you go keen it up...." really.........ok, no! not happening. oh well, i guess this tells me hes not ready to be potty trained, AT ALL. he totally doesnt understand. or maybe he does, but he just is too busy and moving too fast to get to the potty and he doesnt really care. boys are so different than girls- its crazy. so i try to reason with him and i even put him in time out this last time- and i said, where do we poop? he said, the toilet. and i said, are you gonna try and poop on the toilet next time? he said quickly, "no." allrighty then. then i remind myself, hes two lisa. hes only two.... and at least hes honest!

teda on the other hand is starting to tell little white lies, to try and get what she wants. but i pretty much always know because she crinkles her face when she does it- she doesnt feel right lying to me (i think anyways), but she thinks it will change my answer to things. like today she wanted to wear her sparkle pants (these jeans i got from the second hand store with all these rhinestones on them- cute, and theyre her new "uniform" pants- meaning she wears them pretty much every day), and they were sitting on top of the dirty clothes. she comes in with them on and says, "i found these in my drawer..." (with the crinkled face). hmmm, you did? i said, "do you wanna try that again and tell me the truth?" and she stuck with her first answer and added, "they're dry mom." (thinking that would further her case of being able to wear dirty pants... i usually tell her to wait until they're clean... this time they really were clean, just mistakenly in the dirty clothes)... so i tell her that i know when shes not telling the truth and that its always better to tell me the truth, not lie to get what she wants. so i asked her if she wanted to tell me the truth, and she did. it's becoming our new thing with her- trying to teach her the importance of being honest. it's interesting that it seems to be just in them to be deceitful. but something in them still doesnt feel right doing it (i think in their spirit they don't feel right), but they do it anyways. i think its a stage that probably most kids go through. shes figuring out life and how things work. and her mind is going 100 miles an hour. she's a little sweetie though- and funny too! she loves school, and loves to dress herself. she changes a few times a day, and ive learned to just let her. she has reasons for each piece of clothing she wears, and it's so cute. she actually does a great job of matching her outfits. and she is starting to let me do hear hair too sometimes! she is still singing all the time, and i love to hear her sing. music to my ears! she's sick this week too- no much of a surprise though- she seems to be sick all the time. i guess first year of preschool. lots of germs she is being exposed to. who knows. so yeah, thats what weve been up to lately.

Here's one of the cutest outfits she's come up with yet- I just had to snap a picture!

long week, tiring week, i feel just done after this week. having sick kids just takes a toll on me- and staying at home too long just makes me feel like i need to break free and get alone. but zach is off today, and this morning he watched the kids while i went to the coffee shop and had a date with Jesus. i LOVED it, had so much fun, and came home feeling so awesome and ready to be a mom and a wife again. isnt it amazing what two hours alone to spend time with God will do? He really is good.

oh, and dane got his hair cut too- finally! (it's very cute too!) it was getting pretty long- he was starting to look like we were growing a tail for him- remember those? zach said he had one when he was little- he begged his mom and dad to let him grow one. i wish i had a picture i could put of it on here. so funny- oh the trends over the years. this is too embarrassing , but i have to admit that i fell prey to one of those trends you DONT want to go along with. remember when girls shaved the bottom half of their hair and wore it in a pony tail? (i'm shocked i'm even sharing this horribly embarrassing information!)... well, i did that! it wasn't long before i wished i hadn't done that, and when you do something like that, oh well! too late. it took a LONG time to grow back... live and learn i guess! i'll bet my mom so didn't want me to do that, and knew that i wouldnt like it after a short time. but she let me! i'm glad she did- shes a wise woman. let me make my own choices. she knew when to say something and step in, and when to let things go and not keep a tight grip on things. because that wasnt something that would affect my health or well being, its just hair. teda says that when she gets bigger, she wants pink hair. hmmmm, i guess we'll deal with that when it comes! life is good, it's all good!!!
